SSMS Math

I am so excited to be celebrating my silver anniversary in education this year! A quarter of a century ago, upon graduating from the University of North Texas, I began my dream of teaching mathematics in Denton ISD and am grateful to continue sharing this passion at Sycamore Springs Middle School this year. During our year together, my goal is to guide my students to discover their inner mathematician: those that are "loud and proud" and those that are so far hidden even the student doesn't know it's with them each day.

Being the mom of a freshman daughter at DSHS, my world is expanding beyond middle school this year. When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and our 2 dogs, Bella and Pepper (a.k.a. the "poochaloos"). My husband,  Adam, and I can often be found in the stands or on the pool deck cheering on our year-round athlete. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, catching the latest blockbuster movie, gardening, spontaneous adventures and cheering on the Texas Longhorns. Hook 'Em Horns!

Beyond my family, my "loves" are varied ranging from musical theatre to children's literature

to Sonic ice to Disneyland to 80s music to Mexican food to snow skiing to Calvin and Hobbes.
